If you are reading this, you have almost made it to the end of 2020. It has been a challenging and most unusual year, but we can still be grateful that we have made it “almost” intact to the holiday season, Christmas being my all-time favorite holiday!
As we look back over 2020, it is a blessing to have been able to contribute in ways big and small to the response to the Covid-19 pandemic. We have found ways to be hardy, to survive the numerous challenges we have faced this year, which brings me to a fascinating article I found about mistletoe (popular in Christmas movies) and how they do not make mitochondria, which almost all living organisms produce. Scientists are not sure why, but my favorite theory in the article, is that perhaps it is their way of being more resilient to stress, much like what we have all been doing this year.
Merry Christmas! Happy Holidays! and prayers for a safe and prosperous 2021!!
